Step-by-step walkthrough
Step 1: Understand enveloping. An envelope survey wraps an external survey inside SurveyEngine, allowing SurveyEngine to manage routing while the external platform handles specific question types.
Step 2: Add an envelope page. Create a page in SurveyEngine that loads the external survey in an iframe.
Step 3: Pass variables to the external survey. Include SurveyEngine variables as URL parameters in the iframe src.
Step 4: Handle completion. Configure the external survey to redirect back to SurveyEngine on completion with any result variables.
Step 5: Capture return variables. Read the return URL parameters in SurveyEngine and store them for export.
