Step-by-step walkthrough
Step 1: Understand the use case. Survey linking passes respondents and their data from one survey to another.
Step 2: Generate the link URL. Configure the completion redirect of the first survey to pass key variables in URL parameters to the second survey.
Step 3: Capture parameters in the second survey. Set up the second survey to read URL parameters and store them as hidden variables.
Step 4: Pass respondent identifiers. Include a respondent ID in the link so responses can be matched across the two surveys.
Step 5: Test the full chain. Complete the first survey in preview mode and confirm the correct variables arrive in the second survey.
